15 to 30 DAYS BEFORE YOUR MOVE

Give away or sell anything you aren't bringing with you.
Dispose safely of household chemicals such as old paint and car oil.
Make a list of everything you're bringing to your new home.
Find out the replacement value of all of your belongings for your insurance purposes.
Get copies of your medical and dental records, if necessary.
Find out about auto licensing for your new city, province or state.
Notify your children's schools and have their records transferred to the new schools.
If driving, get detailed map directions to your new home.
Start packing, with the least-used belongings first. Please see our packing tips and checklist page for lots of helpful packing suggestions for your move.

Make arrangements to have the gas, electric and other utilities disconnected at your old home.
Make arrangements to connect these utilities at your new home.
Arrange to have major appliances prepared for the move, if you are bringing them.
Review your A to B Moving contract to make sure the address, postal code, square feet and date are correct. Please contact A to B Moving if changes are needed. Make sure we have a phone number on file to reach you at your destination city.
