The fall season is upon us, and as the leaves change colour and the air gets a bit cooler, there are a few things that you should probably do with your home. These are 5 things for your home this fall.

Check for drafts

Check for drafts

In the summer it is okay to have a little unwanted breeze coming in from outside, but once that air gets cold you’re definitely not going to want it. Check your windows and make sure everything is sealed so you don’t need to deal with undesired cold air.

Test your detectors

Test your detectors

This is usually a good time to check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Make sure they are all working as they should and replace the batteries in them if need be.

Clean the gutters

Clean the gutters

You might have to do this a couple of times during the fall season as the leaves wither throughout the autumn months. Keep the gutters clear to stop still water from collecting which usually attracts unwanted insect friends.

Check your trees

Check your trees

The winds get a little heavier in the fall and it often rains a bit more, so check the trees surrounding your home. There may be some branches that need to be taken care of before they fall off and potentially damage any property you have.

Put summer away

Pur summer away

It’s going to be very sad when you’re doing it, but put the patio away, store away the lawn mower, put the BBQ in the shed. You won’t be spending very much time outside anymore so put all the fun summer stuff away until the spring to keep it from getting damaged.
